Xiaomi unveiled MiMax and MIUI8 in India packed with affordable pricing
Today (30 June 2016), Chinese Smartphone maker giant Xiaomi launched their new flagship in India in a product launch event at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi at 11:30 AM. Xiaomi launched the MiMax their new flagship Smartphone and along with this, Xiaomi launched their new User Interface (UI) known as MIUI8 in India.

MiMax is the latest flagship device of Xiaomi in India packed with awesome features and liked by customers who prefers a Smartphone with large screen, basically it is a tab killer with a large 6.44 inch display and starting a new era in the category of phablet.
MiMax has a 6.44” inch Full HD IPS (1920X1080p) display with sunlight display technology to offer better viewing capabilities under the sunlight by automatically adjusting the brightness and contrast and reflection of the sunlight. And the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 the most toughened glass available for Smartphones.
Smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650/652 processors respectively and is available with 32GB Internal Storage and 3GB RAM along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and the other variant has 128 GB Internal Storage and 4 GB RAM along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. Both devices will be available from 6th July 2016 on the entire selling partner if Xiaomi in an open sale and no more registration is required now to get Xiaomi Mi Max.

Xiaomi MiMax comes with a 16 MP (Mega Pixels) PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) Camera and a 5 MP Front Camera for selfies along with beautify. Photography seems great on the phone, but we need to wait until I got the device for the clear and complete review.
Smartphone also includes a finger print scanner at the back of the device which is used to unlock the device and off course to take selfies as well. Device also sports a full metal unibody design and curved edges from every corner and from up and downside. Overall, the build quality of the device seems pretty awesome and speaker grill is placed at the bottom of the device as seen on Mi3 and Mi5.

Other features of the device includes an infrared sensor to read and pair remote to control such appliances like AC, Television, DTH etc. VoLTE connectivity for better call quality and internet connectivity when browsing and streaming over 2G/3G/4G etc.
MiMax supports dual SIM cards and uses a hybrid SIM card tray which allows you to use 2 SIM cards at a time or either you can use a Micro-SD card along with a memory card.
To power the device, Xiaomi utilizes a massive 4850 mAh battery which is capable to deliver the 2 days of usage on a single charge, according to the Xiaomi. Both versions of the devices are available in Gold, Dark Grey and Silver colour options.
And the pricing details of the device are, MiMax with 32 GB storage and 3 GB RAM coupled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor is priced at Rs. 14999 INR.
MiMax with 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM coupled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor is priced at Rs. 19999 INR.
MIUI8 - Quick Review
MIUI8 is the new UI (User Interface) of the Xiaomi, unveiled by Hugo Barra in the same event. It is a completely new UI having lots of great changes and features to make life easier. And Xiaomi used a slogan for MIUI8 which is “MIUI8 Simplify the Life” let’s take a quick review of the MIUI8 here.

Dialer App
Xiaomi has redesigned the Dialer App and now users will be able to search and find the numbers via T9 input language, means you can search contacts and numbers easily in Hindi and English both languages.

Dialer App also identifies the caller’s identity for every call you will make or receive, so that it’s easy to find and revoke unnecessary calls from the spammers.
Messaging App
Messaging App is also gets smarter and changed, now in messaging app, the input gets easier and more convenient and personal and official messages are categorized separately into categories automatically. And users will also see an Icon or Logo badge of the sender of message or the company from where message have been delivered or received.
Messaging app also has some smart alerts to notify and redirect you to the native applications or actions directly from the messaging app. Like if your internet data is getting low and over and you got an SMS regarding that, you’ll see an “Recharge Now” button at the very below of the message to proceed a recharge, and you can also schedule meetings and reminder alerts as well for your events and day schedules.
Calendar App

Calendar App is also gets some improvement, now; calendar app will comes with improved colour scheme for each and every month so that it is easy to identify and remember the current month and season. Means, 12 different colours are associated with every month of the calendar.
Weather App
Weather app gets a completely new look and now it features some animations according to the weather forecast report. Users will enjoy a relevant animation according to the weather condition.
Calculator App
Calculator is also an important app if we know how wisely we can use or utilize it, and this time, Xiaomi really did appreciating work on the calendar app to make it more convenient and usable for the users. Now, users can find and covert currencies, height, weight, distance, mass etc. and many more automatically. Sounds Good, Right!

Taking screenshot is really further improved by Xiaomi in MIUI8, if you want to take the screenshot of a long-navigating webpage, you need to take more than 1 or 2 screenshots and store and share them one-by-one. But, now, Xiaomi has fixed this, you can take the entire page screenshot in once, by just selecting the entire area which you want to cover.
Video Editing
Xiaomi has also included a very demanded and asking feature in MIUI8, the Video Editing tool or app, allows you to edit, annotate your videos and you can add sounds, images etc. into the video in real time.
Gallery
Image Gallery is become more organized and now preview of the images like panorama will not shown as a rectangular box, now users will see a complete landscape preview of the panorama image. And screenshots captured with the device is also showing a full preview of the images instead rectangular preview.
Dual Apps

Quick Ball
Much like Apple's Assistive Touch, Xiaomi has
presented an feature called Quick Ball. It is essentially a blend of five gesture
shortcuts that a user can modify as per their need. The Quick Ball can be put
anywhere on the screen, and is gone for giving users fast and simple access to
applications they utilize as often as possible. Xiaomi's Quick Ball can be accessed
directly from the lock screen.
Partnership with MobiKwik, Hungama and Warner Bros
For recharges, Xiaomi has partnered with the MobiKwik to offer great discounts on recharges for mobile phones and DTH services.
And Xiaomi partnered with Hungama to provide users latest ringtones and music and movies or videos as well. Users will get a free subscription of 12 months to download unlimited music and ringtones.
And users will also get opportunity to download the movies of Warner Bros for 3 months for free. For this, Xiaomi has partnered with Warner Bros to provide content.
